ICF Individual Mentor Coaching

Coaches pursuing certification through the International Coach Federation must complete 10 hours of mentor coaching with an ICF certified coach. ICF mentor coaching must adhere to the ICF Code of Ethics, focus on coaching development of the ICF Core Competencies, and span a time period of at least 3 months.

According to the ICF, mentor coaching is defined as “an applicant being coached on their coaching skills rather than coaching on practice building, life balance, or other topics unrelated to the development of an applicant’s coaching skill.” Because of this, Hawthorne Union’s mentor coaching will specifically focus on participants’ ability to coach on the ACC or PCC level according to the PCC Markers and ICF Core Competencies through coaching demonstrations, coaching practice, written and/or verbal feedback, skill building, and debriefs of recorded coaching sessions.

For individual coaching sessions it is recommended that participants provide recorded coaching sessions or coach within the scheduled session. Individual mentor coaching sessions can be scheduled at participants’ convenience as long as they span the duration of the ICF required 3 month minimum. Hours are valid for one year from purchase unless an extension is requested in writing.

ACC and PCC Mentoring are $275 per hour, MCC mentoring is $375 per hour.

Calls can be reviewed for ICF portofolio for an additional a la carte fee of $250 per hour.

Finances and Gender

Finances are a vulnerable subject regardless of gender and most clients have shame, anxiety, and/or ignorance related to their financial present and future. Finances and Gender examines the role gender plays in exacerbating challenges related to financial vitality. Finances and Gender equips coaches with strategies to support their clients in relation to their financial goals while maintaining coach role.

Learning Objectives:

Increase awareness and skill of navigating the complex emotions related to coaching around finances
Examine the role that gender dynamics play in relation to coaching on finances
Clarify coach role in relation to financial coaching
Strengthen ability to leverage ICF Core Competencies

This course is approved for 10 Core Competency Units and 2 Resource Development Units through the International Coaching Federation.

Gray Areas: Ethics for Coaches

Pledging to uphold the ICF Code of Ethics goes beyond the black and white of right and wrong into challenging and complex gray areas where coaches have to determine how to proceed ethically in complex and potentially ambiguous situations. Gray Areas reviews and discusses the ICF Ethics in an interactive format including case studies and a coaching demonstration in order to equip coaches with best practices and alignment to the ICF Ethics.

Learning Objectives:

Revisit ICF Code of Ethics
Analyze ethics and ethical challenges in a coaching session
Explore common ethical dilemmas for coaches and the coaching profession

This course has been approved by the International Coaching Federation for 6 CCEUs (Core Competencies and/or Ethics Credits).
